2. What We Collect
- •Account information: email address, display name, and password hash (never plaintext).
- •Audio recordings: uploaded or live-recorded audio/video files you submit for transcription.
- •Transcripts: the text output of your recordings, stored on your behalf.
- •Google OAuth tokens: if you connect your Google account to export documents to Google Drive/Docs, we store an encrypted refresh token to maintain that connection. We never access any Google data except the specific document we create on your behalf.
- •Usage data: server logs (IP address, request timestamps) retained for 30 days.
3. How We Use Your Data
- •To provide transcription, translation, and analysis services.
- •To send transactional emails for account notifications such as invitations and password resets.
- •We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising.
4. Third-Party Services
To provide transcription, translation, and analysis, we send audio and text data to specialized AI and infrastructure providers. These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your data and we do not authorize providers to use it for any purpose other than delivering the service to you.
- •Speech transcription providers that convert your audio to text in real time and via file upload.
- •AI analysis and summarization providers that process transcript text to generate summaries, translations, and other analysis.
- •Cloud file storage where your audio files are held. Files are private and access-controlled.
- •Email delivery provider used only to send account notifications such as invitations and password resets.
5. Data Retention
- •You may delete your account and all associated data at any time via account settings.
- •Audio files and transcripts are retained until you delete them or your account.
- •Google OAuth tokens are revoked and deleted when you disconnect your Google account.
6. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext. We do not store credit card information.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights under GDPR or CCPA to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact hello@cinetools.io to exercise these rights.
8. Children
PaperCuts.io is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. We will notify registered users by email of material changes.
