How it works
Three steps from raw material to result.
Live transcription streams to the server in real time. At the same time the browser keeps its own copy of the audio, with no extra steps from you.
If the network goes down, the transcript pauses. When you reconnect, the gap is detected and the missing audio is transcribed from the local copy.
For a hole the browser never saw, upload an intact copy of the audio. You see what the repair would add before anything is written, and it is one click to undo afterwards.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the local recording stored?
In the browser's own local storage, which is partitioned per site and not readable by any other page. The copy is deleted once it has been uploaded.
What happens if I close the browser during recording?
The local copy survives a refresh and a short closure. On reopening the app, any pending local recording surfaces as a prompt to fill in what the server missed.
My recorder lost an input mid-interview. Can that be fixed?
Yes, if you have an intact copy of the audio. Upload it and only the missing material is folded into the existing transcript. Nothing already there is touched, so the selects, paper cut rows, highlights and notes built on that transcript over the last few months come through unchanged.
What stops it inserting the wrong interview into mine?
It refuses unless the upload is demonstrably the same recording, proven by many independent points in the text agreeing on one time offset. It also only fills substantial holes, so it will not creep into the ordinary pauses between sentences and duplicate what is already written.
Can I retranscribe with a different engine after the session?
Yes. The retranscription panel lets you pick any supported engine and source language, then re-runs the full local recording through it.
Does local recording affect battery or performance?
The local write is light. Battery drain is dominated by the microphone and the network, not by keeping the second copy.
