Frequently asked questions
How many collaborators can a project have?
There is no hard cap on project members. Each added collaborator uses one invite slot; contact us if you are coordinating a large team.
What can an Editor do that a Viewer cannot?
Editors can edit transcript text, rename speakers, add or modify paper cut rows, and create beat sheets. Viewers can read, search, export, and leave notes, but cannot change the material.
Can a viewer leave notes?
Yes. Leaving a note is how somebody without edit rights says what they think, so requiring edit rights to leave one would defeat the point. Marking a note resolved is an editorial decision and does need edit rights. Editing the words of a note belongs to whoever wrote them.
What happens when I name someone in a note?
They get a notification linking straight to the line, beat, or row it sits on. Only people who can already open the document can be named, so a note never becomes a way to send somebody a link they cannot follow. Naming yourself does nothing, because that is a reminder rather than a summons.
Can I share a file without giving full project access?
Yes. A file share link gives access to that file only: transcript, translation, and audio. The recipient does not need an account and does not see other files in the project.
Do collaborators use their own credits?
No. All AI operations in a project (transcription, translation, indexing) are billed to the project owner.
